Future Cooperation between BCC & COS/GMU Strengthened

Dr. CHANDHOKE Vikas, Dean for College of Science (COS), George Mason University 9GMU), and Prof. John J. Qu visited BCC on 17 March 2011. Dr. Xu Xiaofeng, Deputy Administrator of CMA, attended the meeting and emphasized that NCC should carry out research on satellite climatology through international cooperation in the future. Dr. Song Lianchun, Director-General of BCC, discussed with the US guests on future cooperation in field of climate and climate change. Both sides agreed to continue the cooperation and signed the MOU for further 5-year periods.

Through the cooperation with COS/GMU, BCC will improve the capacity in developing the second generation of global climate system modeling, enhance the scientific and technological contents in climate and climate change operations, and promote the talent cultivation.
