Climate feasibility assessment services
Climate feasibility assessment is an activity that involves conducting necessary climate suitability and risk assessments for development planning and construction projects, as well as assessing their potential impact on the local climate. China is rich in climate resources, with great potential for exploration and a huge capacity for protecting and utilizing climate resources. However, the climate background of China is complex, and the occurrence of extreme climate events in China is increasing under the backdrop of global warming. The impact of climate change on the national economy, ecology, energy, and major engineering projects is becoming increasingly serious. Conducting climate feasibility studies for major planning and key engineering projects is a strong guarantee for strengthening meteorological services for major national engineering construction. Beijing Climate Centre (BCC) conducts climate feasibility studies in the following aspects:
Develop refined application and evaluation technologies for high-resolution and multi-scale mode simulations.
Research and application of refined climate effect assessment technology for major projects using high-precision multi-source fusion data Based on numerical models at different scales, including the Regional Climate Model (RegCM), Mesoscale Model (WRF), Small Scale Model (CFD), and Urban Climate Model (Urbclim), we develop a multivariate, high-resolution grid-based observation dataset for China, conduct refined simulations of climate elements, and explore the impact of high-impact weather on major projects in different application scenarios.

Establish a climate feasibility demonstration operation system and service process.
Based on the relevant technical indicators or guidelines for climate feasibility assessment, clarify the climate feasibility assessment models, technical specifications, and industry standards for different major projects, design a climate feasibility assessment business system, and establish a climate feasibility assessment service process. For example, exploring the comprehensive evaluation of China's summer tourism conditions, establishing evaluation systems for national and provincial summer tourism destinations, developing industry standards for summer tourism destinations, and determining the evaluation process for summer tourism destinations.
