First Announcement of ISCS 2017
Sponsored by China Meteorological Administration (CMA), co-sponsored by SAFEA (State Administration of Foreign Expert Affairs), hosted by Beijing Climate Centre (BCC), College of Atmospheric Sciences, Sun Yat-sen University, the Fourteenth International Seminar on Climate System and Climate Change (ISCS) will be held from 10 to 21 July 2017 at Sun Yat-sen University, in Zhuhai, China. Several international climatologists and experts on related fields have been invited as teachers and lecturers. They are,
Prof. Thomas Stocker, from Switzerland, Professor of Climate and Environmental Physics at the University of Bern, Former Co-Chair of Working Group I of the UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC).
Prof. Hans-Otto Poertner, from Germany, Professor and Head of the Department of Integrative Ecophysiology at the Alfred Wegener Institute for Marine and Polar Research, University of Bremen, Co-Chair of IPCC Working Group II.
Prof. Stefano Cernuschi, from Italy, Professor of Sanitary-Environmental Engineering at the School of Civil, Environmental and Land planning Engineering of Politecnico di Milano.
ISCS was initialed from 2004, aiming at widening views of young scientists, realizing international front on climate and climate change, improving the climate research ability, strengthening international academic exchanges.
Dr. Qin Dahe, Co-Chair of IPCC WGI, Academician of CAS and Former Administrator of CMA, is the president of ISCS.
There is no registration fee. The work language is English. The tentative schedule of ISCS 2017 is herewith attached.
