According to Climate Prediction Center, NOAA, at the beginning of this summer, several countries in Europe have encountered the first round high temperature. The temperature is 5 degrees centigrade higher than the same period in other years in central and northern Spain, France, northern Italy, Switzerland, western Austria, central and western German, Belgium, Holland, and southeastern Britain. Among them, the temperature is 7 degrees centigrade higher in most parts of France, Belgium, southern Holland, and western German.
On June 20, a new maximum temperature was recorded in northwestern France. A marathon athlete died of heatstroke when he was running. The early warning of intense heat has been issued in three provinces.
Portugal also suffers from the high temperature, which intensifies the severest drought since 60 years ago. The drought is extremely severe in 50 percent of the land, and another 30 percent is comparatively severe. The agriculture is affected terribly, and the crop has dropped to the bottom in recent some dozen years, and the falling range is about 70 percent.

The northern Italy would be faced with the drought, and Mantova district government issued the warning of fighting the drought.
The southeastern Britain area is also anxious. From last November to this May, the water storage capacity is only as 60 percent as it was in the normal condition. It is the lowest water storage year since 1914 in Britain.
