On 28 July 2006, Dr. Luo Yali from National Institute of Astronautics, NASA, delivered a report on "Simulating the Clouds" in the seminar jointly organized by LCS and NWP Division of NMC.
Dr. Luo Yali mainly introduced simulation of cloud micro-physical structure on various scales and various categories by GCM model and Single Column Model (SCMNs) model by using satellite and radar observation data, including optic thickness and vertical structure of cloud, and limitation of model inspection, so as to adjust cloud parameterization scheme in the model and minish the simulation error.
