In order to follow and implement the instruction of Premier Wen Jiabao and Vice Premier Hui Liangyu on drought control, the CMA dispatched a drought control working group led by Dr. Dong Wenjie, Director General of BCC, to investigate the drought disaster on 10-14 August 2006 in Chongqing and Sichuan. The working group investigated in Chongqing, Tongnan, Bishan, Guangan, Nanchong, Suining and Chengdu respectively, where they condoled with the local people on the drought disaster, collected local information and data of disasters, realized local climate background and weather modification conditions, and discussed with the relevant experts.
