During August, three typhoons landed on southeastern coasts of China and resulted in at least 499 people dead, 176 people missing, 27.48 billion RMB’s direct economic loss.

During August, Cambodia suffered torrential rains and floods.
During the beginning of August, floods triggered by heavy rains raided northern Mongolia.
