The Chinese Terrestrial Vegetation Distribution Assessment on Sep. 14, 2006

Based on the data of EOS\MODIS on September 14, 2006, the terrestrial average LAI in China is 1.7, and the average values of different provinces shown in the table 1.

Chinese terrestrial vegetation mainly distributes in the middle and east regions of China and the west part of Xinjiang, the terrestrial vegetation distribution condition is better in the areas of Fujian, Taiwan, Hannan and Zhejiang provinces, whose LAI are higher than 2. (figure 2).
