Snowstorm in Canada and U.S.A
During October 13tth and 14th, a severe snowstorm attacked Southern Ontario in Canada and northeastern USA and caused at least 3 people dead. This storm also made new records: the highest snowfall in Buffalo of USA, the earliest snow in Chicago and Detroit.
Floods in Thailand and Burma
From the end of 1st dekad and the beginning of the 2nd dekad in October, torrential rains caused severe floods in most of Thailand, with the disaster being the worst in Bangkok. The floods resulted in at least 47 people dead and 8.1 million dollars’ direct economic losses.
During middle of 1st dekad, severe floods attacked middle Burma and resulted in 13 people dead and thousands people homeless.
Drought in Australia
During 2nd dekad in October, temperatures were above normal and precipitations weres obviously below normal in southeastern Australia. Above conditions caused severe drought and forest fires frequently.
