The editorial committee meeting of "China's Meteorological Disasters Yearbook" jointly organized by Department of Forecasting Services and Disaster Mitigation/CMA and BCC was held in Beijing on December 15, 2006. Dr. Qin Dahe (Administrator of CMA), Dr. Xu Xiaofeng (Deputy Administrator of CMA), and relevant experts from Department of Policy and Regulations/CMA, National Climate Center, National Meteorological Center, National Satellite Meteorological Center, Chinese Academy of Meteorological Sciences, Atmospheric Composition Center and the Ministry of Land and Resources P.R.C. attended the meeting.
Dr. Qin Dahe (Administrator of CMA) presided the meeting. First of all, Dr. Dong Wenjie (Director-General of BCC) introduced the progress, major contents of "China's Meteorological Disasters Yearbook" in 2006, and planning for 2007. Based on the framework of the book in 2005, BCC increased the atmospheric composition track products (eg. acid rain analysis), space weather track products (eg. the characteristics and impacts of space weather), assessment and causing-analysis of major meteorological disasters in 2006. The preparation work had basically completed, and waited the experts of editorial committee to discuss and revise.
