Sea ice Monitoring in November 2006

Northern Hemisphere: During November 2006, sea ice concentrations were found generally less than normal in the North Pole. Sea ice concentrations were observed 20 - 60% below normal in northern Barents Sea, central Baffin Bay, Fox Basin and western Beaufort Sea .

Southern Hemisphere:

For the month, sea ice concentrations were found generally more than normal around the Antarctica. Sea ice Concentrations were observed 20 - 40% above normal in the ocean near the Antarctica except that negative anomalies were observed -20 - -40% in the ocean between 50°-140°W .
