March 17, as the World Meteorological Day is coming, BCC held the special activities on climate and environmental change. Organized by the committee of Beijing Science and Technology Youth Club, more than 150 high school students from 20 Beijing's famous middle school such as middle school of Tsinghua University and Peking University participated in the activities. From now on, BCC began the activities of World Meteorological Day in 2007.
On the special activities, Academician Ding Yihui, Prof. Zhang Xiuzhi told the students about the knowledge on climate and environmental change, wind and solar energy resource. Prof. Zhang Xiuzhi also introduced the wind and solar energy resource assessment and application. Prof. Zhang Xiuzhi, Liu Hongbin and Xu Ying gave detailed answers on students’ interest questions. Then students visited the Meteorological Technology Exhibition. They showed great interest on climate change, which is currently receiving worldwide attention.
