Organized by Department of International Cooperation of CMA, hosted by BCC, the meeting of Working Group on Climate-Related Matters (WGCRM) was held from 7-8 April 2007 in Beijing. Dr. Zheng Guoguang, Chair of WGCRM and Administrator of CMA, Dr. Buruhani Nyenzi, Director of World Climate Program (WCP) of WMO, Dr. Rupa Kumar Kolli, Chief of World Climate Applications & CLIPS Division of WCP/WMO, Dr. Koichi Kurihara, Vice Chair of WGCRM and Director of Climate Prediction Division of JMA, Dr. Vladimir Kryzhov, Senior Researcher of Hydromet Centre of Russia and Mr. Liu Wenquan from Department of Science and Technology Development of CMA attended the meeting. Dr. Luo Yong, Deputy Director-General of BCC, Dr. Chen Deliang, Science Director of BCC and Mr. Yu Jixin, Director-General of Department of International Cooperation, attended as nonvoting delegates.
The Meeting examined the eligibility of the candidate RCCs, reviewed implementation of the RCC Network in RAII and progress of WG members on climate related matters. On behalf of BCC, Dr. Luo Yong reported the BCC’s present status and future plans, which was fully affirmed by the meeting.
After the meeting, the foreign delegates visited the NMC, NSMC, NMIC and Huafeng Group.
