The Chinese Terrestrial Vegetation Distribution Assessment on Feb.26, 2007

Based on the data of EOS\MODIS on Feb.26, 2007, the terrestrial average LAI in China is 0.5, and the average values of different provinces shown in the table 1.

Chinese terrestrial vegetation mainly distributes in the southeast part of southwestern region of China, the middle and east part of Southern Yangtze River, the east part of South China, in addition to the southeastern regions of xizang province. the terrestrial vegetation distribution condition is better in the areas of Taiwan, Hainan, Fujian, yunnan, Guangdong, zhejiang provinces and HongKong, whose LAI are higher than 1. (figure 1).
