The Chinese Terrestrial Vegetation Distribution Assessment on Apr.7, 2007

Based on the data of EOS\MODIS on Apr.7, 2007, the terrestrial average LAI in China is 0.6, and the average values of different provinces shown in the table 1.

Chinese terrestrial vegetation mainly distributes in the southeast part of northwest, the southeast part of southwestern region of China, the south part of Huanghuai, Janghuai, Southern Yangtze River, the middle and east part of South China in addition to the southeastern regions of Xizang province. the terrestrial vegetation distribution condition is better in the areas of Taiwan, Hainan, Fujian, Yunnan, Zhejiang, Guangdong, Jiangxi provinces and HongKong, whose LAI are higher than 1. (figure 1).
