CIMCGWM Held in Beijing

June 18-21, 2007, Sino-German Workshop on Conceptual and Integrated Modeling in Climate-system, Geo-ecosystem and Watershed Management (CIMCGWM) held in Beijing.

More than 50 experts and scientists from research institutes and colleges/universities in atmosphere, geo-ecological and hydrological research of China, German and Japan attended the workshop. Bureau of International Cooperation of Natural Science Fund Committee (NSFC), Sino-German Center for Research Promotion, Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG), Development and Cooperation Office of Delegation of Commission of European Union (EU) to China, Energy and Environment Group of United Nations Development Program (UNDP), BCC/CMA and other units were present at the opening ceremony and delivered speech. Prof. Ren Guoyu/BCC and Prof. Thomas Schoid from Eberhard-Karls-Universität in Tübingen presided the workshop jointly.

The workshop focus on the main spheres of earth system, specially discussed the global and regional scale climate system and ecosystem evolution and the driving factors and its predictability and simulation. The meeting also discussed the further developments between China and German. Prof. Feng Guolin, Prof. Wu Tongwen, Prof. Zhao Zongci, Dr. Yan Yuping, Dr. Li Yuefeng, Dr. Xu Hongmei and graduate students attended the workshop.
