On October 11, Prof. Zhang Zhibei (Chairman of Monsoon Working Group Executive Committee of World Weather Research Program (WWRP)/World Meteorological Organization) investigated East Asian Monsoon Activity Center (EAMAC)/WMO. Dr. Li Weijing (Deputy Director of BCC) and related personnel received him.
Dr. Li Weijing (Deputy Director of BCC) introduced the building of EAMAC/WMO in details. Prof. Ren Fuming from Division of Climate System Monitoring/BCC introduced the monsoon monitoring professions carried out by EAMAC/WMO; and Prof. Zhang Peiqun from Division of Climate System Diagnostics and Prediction/BCC talked about the professional monsoon research and services.
After listened to the briefings, Prof. Zhang Zhibei said that EAMAC/WMO had carried out a large number of basic profession, research and technical exchange on East Asian Monsoon, and achieved certain progress. He hopes that EAMAC will further strengthen the contact and publicity with WMO and its relevant organizations in future. And he also introduced the latest situation of WMO Monsoon Working Group.
