the Meeting of Expert Team on Extended and Long-Range Forecasting Opened

Hosted by BCC, the Meeting of Expert Team on Extended and Long-Range Forecasting opened on 7 April 2008. Totally 12 participants from Australia, Canada, China, India, Japan, Korea, Russia, South Africa, UK, USA and WMO attended the meeting. The main topics of the meeting are Long Range Forecast (LRF), multi-model assemble LRF, Regional Climate Center (RCC), Extended Forecast (EF) and Verification system of EF and LRF.

Dr. Xiao Ziu, Executive Director-General of BCC, Mr. Yu Jixin, Director-General of Department of International Cooperation, and Dr. Zhai Panmao, Deputy Director-General of Department of Forecasting and Disaster Mitigation, attended the opening ceremony. The meeting will be closed on 10 April 2008.
