According to the statistics of Hubei Provincial Meteorological Bureau, the high temperature process of Hubei Province in the past summer was short. The maximum temperature of Wuhan, which has always been one of the hottest cities of China in summer, was only 37.1℃. It has been the coolest summer since 2000.
Chen Zhenghong, a senior engineer of Wuhan regional climate center introduced that the past summer (from June to August), the temperatures of most areas of Hubei Province were somewhat lower. Because the precipitation processes hit frequently in July and August, so the average temperature of most areas of Hubei was 0.3 to 1℃ lower.
In addition, he said that in the past summer, each high temperature process did not last for a long time. Among total 30 sites, only 3 suffered high temperature above 35℃. Wuhan suffered high temperature weather for only 21 days. Therefore, this has been the coolest summer since 2000.
