Tropical storm Higos has developed in the western North Pacific and is currently at 12.9N, 124.4E, in the south-east Luzon Islands. It is forecast to move west-northwestward gradually turning into north-northwestward with further intensification after passing over the Philippines.
Jangmi has been downgraded from a typhoon into a tropical storm and is heading eastward towards Japan.
Subtropical storm Laura has developed in the North Atlantic and is currently located around 40N, 49W. No further intensification is expected.
