Hurricane Omar has developed in the Caribbean Sea. Its present position is 14.3N, 68.1W, about 450 km southeast of Haiti. It is forecast to move primarily northeastward with current intensity (maximum wind speed near the centre 119 km/h) sustained over the next three days. In addition, Tropical Depression Sixteen has formed offshore of Honduras. The RSMC Miami Hurricane Centre is monitoring the storms and providing guidance to the National Meteorological and Hydrological Services in the region.
