Devastating tropical storms have struck Nepal, West Bengal (India) and the Philippines over the past few days. As well as causing serious material damage, at least 15 people were reported killed and more than 170 were injured in southern and western Nepal and at least 11 people killed and 25 injured in West Bengal, India. Flooding and landslides triggered by heavy rains left 20 people dead in the eastern Philippines and nearly 50000 displaced.
