The 2009 Volvo Environmental Prize Foundation has named Susan Solomon of the US National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration’s Earth System Research Laboratory as the recipient of its 2009 environmental prize.
The Volvo Environment Prize is awarded for “Outstanding innovations or scientific discoveries which in broad terms fall within the environmental field”.
The 2009 Award recognizes Susan Solomon’s work in the Antarctic and during the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change Fourth Assessment Report.
